You hated working as a waitress in a restaurant in the Viridian City with a burning passion. Practically all of the customers were rude and blamed you for everything, the other employees talked trash about you, and the overall environment of the restaurant was like the butt end of a Miltank. You had long given up trying to be cheerful, barely managing to restrain yourself from blowing up in front of the customers.

The only reason why you didn't leave was for the miserable amount of money you were paid. It was barely enough to cover the cost for your education (you aspiring to be a Pokémon researcher), so you literally lived in the Viridian Forest. That was the only good thing about your life as of yet.

One day, you stretched, wincing when your back ached from sleeping against a knobby old tree, then walked (as slowly as possible) to your dreaded workplace. The steady stream of insults from the customers just kept on coming. While you were forced to listen to them, you just nodded and acted as if you cared. In your mind, you imagined flipping over their table and stabbing their eyes with the forks.

Then, this spiky-haired person sits down. Probably some dumb jerk who flexes his muscles and uses hair gel for his ridiculous haircut. After all, 99% of all the guys who came to this dump did.

"Hey." He said. Since your patient was wearing thin, you snapped at this unlucky customer. Maybe it was his outfit; a black collared shirt and brown pants. Maybe it was the way he looked at you with his green eyes. You didn't really know.

"I haven't got the time to listen to your complaints about my service. Just place an order." You said through gritted teeth. He raised his eyebrows.

"Bad day? I'll just have coffee, by the way." He said, seemingly unaffected by your rude outburst. You stormed off without answering him, slamming a cup of hastily brewed black liquid on the table. It splashed a little, spilling on the table. You cursed as a boiling hot drops burned your skin.

"There. As for your question, this is how my day usually is." You huffed, taking a small break. He sipped it quietly, looking as if he was having a mental debate.

"You don't like your job." He muttered. It wasn't a question. It was a statement. A sugar-coated one at that.

"That's an understatement. I'm only here to pay for training to be a Pokémon researcher. Just a few more weeks and I'm out of this dump." You grumbled, staring out the window.

"You know, you could quit this job. My grandfather is a Pokémon Professor, and he says he needs an assistant." Green suggested. You turned to look at him with wide eyes.

There, you finally saw how... Handsome he was. Not like those ripped guys with slick hairdos with sunglasses. His face was just perfect. "Well, I, uh..." You stuttered. "I'm still training to be a researcher. I'm technically not qualified to be one." You managed to choke out, still staring at him.

"That's alright. You can finish your training, but I'm sure Gramps will let you start a little early. Sound good?" He asked, a small smile on his face. Oh, man. The way it curled up slightly, like he was amused or just happy, melted you.

"My name is Green, by the way." Green chuckled a little bit. His laugh was even sexier than his smile. "Yes, oh my Arceus, yes." You said, your eyes lighting up. You took out a pen and grabbed a stray napkin, scrawling something onto it. When you were done, you untied your waitress-apron-thing and threw it on the table.

It read: See ya, suckers! I quit, LOL
With lots of love, as if! I hate you all.
Go die in a hole.

"Shall we go?" You asked.

Almost a month later, you finally passed your class (with flying colors, I might add. You were quite eager to succeed, since it meant you would be with Green).

You were extremely busy, but it was so much fun! You got to meet so many cool people and experience so many different things. You were able to travel to different regions, learning new things or trying local specialties, all while doing the thing that you loved.

The best thing was that you got to see Green (your new boyfriend, squee!) nearly every day. Since he was the Gym Leader of Viridian City, he could always make it back to Pallet Town with a short ten minute walk. You owed your dream life to him.

You took some notes, sending them to other researchers abroad. Your computer beeped, signaling a new message. Before you could read it, though, strong but lean wrapped his arms around you from behind.

"You look pretty tired. You shouldn't overwork yourself, [Name]." Green murmured, his warm breath tickling your ear. "No, I'm not! But there's so much to do!" You protested, scribbling away on a few sticky notes.

"Well, it can wait a few hours. It's 3 am." He said, pointing to the little clock on your desk. "Oh... Oops." You giggled, a small blush on your face as exhaustion suddenly began to take ahold of you. Coffee was a good short-term energy source, but it wasn't made to replace sleep itself.

He carried you to your bed (conveniently located in the lab, lol), taking off your lab coat, revealing your tank top and shorts. When he was about to stand back up again, you latched onto him.

"Stay with me." You whispered. "As you wish." Green said. He leaned down and gave you a kiss. His lips were smooth and soft. When you kissed, your mind always went blank, erasing all thoughts of research and other things. A warm feeling spread throughout you, making you feel even sleepier.

You couldn't see it through the darkness, but you knew he was smiling the same smile from the day you first met him.

"Love you, Green."

"Love you too."
